Potato Corn Chowder with Ham: Crock Pot Dinner {Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails}
I used canned vegetables this time but I do make it with fresh potatoes too.
2 cans potato soup,
1 can potatoes or cut up 2-4 fresh potatoes
1 can corn or frozen corn (you can add fresh corn)
milk or heavy cream
cheese
diced ham
garlic and onion powder (I like the powder but you can cut up onion and garlic if you wish)
2 chicken cubes and 2 cups of water
butter optional (I usually leave that out)
What to do:
I add potato soup and the can of milk or heavy cream to the crock pot. Then I add the can of corn. I add 1-2 chicken cubes and 2 cups water. Then sprinkle garlic and onion powder to taste. Add diced or cubed ham. Let cook up to 4 hours on high or until potatoes are tender. When using the canned potatoes and corn, the cook time can be lessened to 2 hours. Serve with shredded cheese on top. Or, come up with your own toppings to enjoy.
I love easy and tasty crock pot meals at my house. This one is quick and easy. 4 out of 5 people at my house love the soup. This is pretty good for us. When I do not have to make multiple what I call “mini meals”, it is a good night for me.
Hope you and the family can enjoy this meal too.
